shepherd.com asked its authors to list their three favorite books of 2023. You can find mine here: https://shepherd.com/bboy/2023/f/mj-werthman-white and then if you wish you can click here to see all the books authors chose as favorites: https://shepherd.com/bboy/2023 The shepherd.com site is so much fun. Time slips by unnoticed as I look up my favorite authors to see the books they've chosen. I recommend it. However, there were many more than three for me. Here is a more complete list in no particular order because I loved them all): Morning in This Broken World by Katrina Kittle The Apricot and the Moon (beautiful poems) by Cathryn Essinger Deer Country by Erin Flanagan (wonderful characters you won't soon forget and a 2022 Edgar Award winner!) Hello Beautiful by Ann Napolitano Still Falling (gorgeous poems) by Jennifer Grotz American Arcadia (immerse yourself in New York City in the 80's) by fellow Regal House Publishing (RHP) author Laura Scalzo The War Ends at Four (missing Italy? This novel will take you there.) by Rosanna Staffa, another RHP author Remarkably Bright Creatures by Shelby Van Pelt Shy by Mary Rodger, daughter of the Rogers of Rogers and Hammerstein (An amazing life!) The Human Engine at Dawn, Jim Daniels always heartfelt poetry The Slow Horses series by Mick Herron (If you like the Apple TV series now streaming, you'll love the books even more.) Less by Andrew Sean Greer (Less leaves you wanting more Greer and he has obliged with a sequel.) The Girls' Guide to Hunting and Fishing by Melissa Bank. (I can't adequately say how much I loved this book!) And last but not least, About Dogs by George Booth which I adored (despite the choice of Introduction writer - sorry, I couldn't help myself.) -
